Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial championship for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a difficult period, winning just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - led to him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's first trophy after the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface after that period of that year.

Victory also means he has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, comprising in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his ability to play at the elite level was finished.

But the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and compete positively, supported by an enhanced service.

He recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden tour championship, seized the initiative to create a final set.

Moutet rescued four early chances in a tight deciding set before the Russian broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, the winner secured the title with a point at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
